Like all other sectors in the economy, the water sector has faced a number of socio-economic challenges that adversely affected service delivery. These relate to limited network coverage, inadequate WatSan to meet the growing demand, growing arrears, high water losses, and the adverse effects of climate change effects.
This Transformation Agenda therefore marks a fundamental milestone in the strategic focus of Nkana Water and Sanitation Company.
With the transformation agenda, we are optimistic that the Company will surmount the current challenges and transition from a low-performing utility, to a model utility for the Water Industry.
As a Board, we are aware of the critical role we play in this transformation agenda, and it is our conviction that work will be carried out diligently to achieve the set objectives. As a Board, we positively associate with the undertakings and aspirations of the transformation focus areas, which will witness the Organization’s proficient growth in its operations and evolution.
On behalf of the Board, I take this opportunity to thank Management for this far-sighted, innovative perspective and pledge our commitment, guidance and support to ensure that the Transformation Agenda is successfully implemented, as we steer the Company towards the pathways of this transformation process. I urge management and staff to embrace the changes, some of which will cause disruptions to conventional practices, but are vital for performance improvement.
I commend all the staff of Nkana Water and Sanitation Company for their continued efforts, dedication, and commitment to maintaining and advancing the Organization in its bid to
adequately serve the customer, and achievement of the national and global aspirations, and therefore, we as a Board welcome novelty and innovation at the tactical planning level of the Corporation.
